Why is gatsby an enigma

Akin to the world today of guns and extortion, black money and power axis. He is obsessed with the wonder of human life and driven by the search to make that wonder a reality. An urge that drives prophets and visionaries of this world to make the facts of life measure up to the splendours of human imagination.

Nick who is as much of this world as Daisy is in hers, still sees, obscurely, the significance of Gatsby. Nick is the narrator of the book. He is within and without as he profoundly defines himself in the movie too. The narrator Nick has two styles of narration. In one, he describes in detail what happens, and in the other he debates, fills in the background detail, muses and summarises. He is a bond salesman, from the Midwest with his education from Yale and a sound philosophy rooted in values from his rich father.

She was the same nice, beautiful and lovely girl just in his dreams. That was such a rare kind of love from Gatsby side that hard to find in real life. Despite that she stayed with her husband, Gatsby still loved her and out of his pure and true love he sacrifies himself in this case with the car accident at the end of the novel. Something else that is apparent is that the humor of the book often depends on Huck's language. In chapter fourteen, Huck is telling Jim about royalty in general which is an example of humor through language and incomplete education although sometimes he is not that far from the truth.
