Why is bittorrent 7.8 so slow

It's currently like this ; Global Maximum of Connections : Maximum Number of Connected Peers per torrent : Number of Upload Slots : 40 I tried lowering those numbers as i know it works when using low bandwidth , no luck It's currently "Forced" Maximum number of active torrents : 57 Maximum number of active downloads : 57 UPNP and NAT-PMP port mapping are disabled , i forwarded a port from my router and i used a big number it's currently : 17, TCP,UDP I even tried to enable port mapping although i forwarded my own , again i failed to achieve higher download speeds.
Transfer Cap is disabled. Bittorrent is in my AVG firewall exceptions. I disabled then uninstalled AVG believing it to be the source of the problem. Nope , it's not. Others were usb Still i couldn't make any difference. No , it doesn't and My Hard Disk is not throttling my download speeds.

Cant connect to peers? Are you downloading via a free Proxy server that's now not there? Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling? Can't download files. Same here, it says it is connecting to peers or finding peers , but nothing happens, several hours of nothing happening.
No browser changes have been made, and prior sessions worked quite well. I have the same problem Not connecting to peers Any solutions? Cannot download same torrent again.
I think I found an answer to some of you here. I tried to start a torrent on tpb before I opened bittorrent, when i opened it there was a new version 7. It was indeed, but I believe it was labeled as "hidden" and stopped automatically after the update. Hi - I am the same - my system shows "connecting to peers" and the DMT shows "waiting for announcement" - but torrents will nor start. I am wondering whether this is an issue world wide or is it limited to certain countries - I was ok from Australia last week but now in France - nothing.

Before re-installing restart your computer, check whether any BT leftover files are there in 'program files' and 'appdata' folders.
