Where is the system.mdw file

While this also works in previous versions of Access, there was also a UI option available, which has been deprecated in Access to discourage the use of modifying the default system MDW file. Calling either the RunCommand or selecting the menu option invokes the Workgroup Administrator dialog box.

To create a new MDW file, click the Create button. The Workgroup Owner Information dialog box opens. This information uniquely identifies the authenticity of the MDW file. The Workgroup ID can be from 4 to 20 characters, and should be treated much the same as a password to prevent anyone from guessing it. The Workgroup Information File dialog box displays. This file is required for startup. You have, at some point, defined a workgroup information file that does not have the name System. This forces Access to always use the same workgroup information file and to ignore the registry setting. Steps to Reproduce Problem On a clean computer a computer that has a newly installed version of Microsoft Windows, and no other applications , install Access Do not install Access 97 into the default folder. This is to avoid installing Access 97 and Access into the same folder. So my fix for the mean time is to open Access via the Access icon. Then go to open and navigate to the file.

Then they can close out and go and use the shortcut and it works fine. I would like to eliminate all the extra work. Does anyone have any ideas? Share Flag.
