During season 5 of 'The Hills', Conrad shocked everybody by announcing mid-season that she would be leaving the show to pursue other ventures, but fans always suspected that there was more to her exit than just her desire to further her career. Their suspicions proved to be right, as during an interview with Cosmopolitan shortly after her exit, the reality star expressed how she was forced to be nice to her co-star and former best friend Heidi Montag by the producers, and she didn't want to do that anymore.

It's hard to look at somebody who used to be your best friend and say, 'We can't be friends. Too much has happened. Conrad and her best friend Montag ended up locking horns when the latter began dating Spencer Pratt. Conrad openly disapproved of Pratt and felt that the couple was moving too fast. And while her former co-stars, along with their own spouses and children, are ready to start living their lives in front of MTV's cameras again, Conrad is content to stay right where she is, thank you very much.

When I was a kid, people would call me Bobby because I look like my dad. He explained that he didn't want his birth name to be featured on the show, so he went by Bobby as an "alias of sorts. However, Patridge kept reflexively referring to him as Justin, and before long, he ended up confusingly being known as both. Though Heidi insists she and Conrad were really friends, other friendships likely weren't as close as the reality show made them seem.

We weren't all friends before 'The Hills ,' and we were kind of friends for the show. Lauren "Lo" Bosworth also told Us Weekly in , "Audrina wasn't friends with us in real life, ever.
